Porto Saler is a well known venda - territorial organization of the pitiusas islands - in Formentera, where mistral wind blows all year round. It includes all Punta de sa Pedrera, Can Marroig, much of l'estany and also tower Gaviota, next to old houses dating from the eighteenth century. Close to Porto Saler visitors will find the renowned l’Estany d’es Peix, a saline reservoir build during Roman times. The location of es Estanyets is a good spot to look for migratory birds since the small ponds that form it are the perfect atmosphere for them to rest.
