The paradise island of Formentera will become an epicenter of jazz music in the Mediterranean waters presenting its first edition of Jazz Festival taking place on the 5th, 6th and 7th of June 2015!
Formentera Jazz Festival (FJF) was born from the artistic curiosity inspired in its well-travelled artistic inhabitants and visitors. Throughout its history, the smallest island of the Pitiusas has always been visited by great names from Jules Verne to ob Dylan, Gilberto Gil, Pink Floyd or Bob Marley in the 60s and 70s. With all its wonderful history, surroundings and free spirit Formentera is the perfect location to host such an unique musical event waking up all the poetry the island hides.
Based on the initiative of the musician and cultural producer Maxwell Moya, raised in Formentera, an ex-member of the legendary Ojos de Brujo and now a teacher at the Berklee College of Music, together with the support of the Island Council, the festival opens its doors to Plaça de Sant Francesc, Cine de Sant Francesc and the Blue Bar at Platja Migjorn.
